We are sad to announce that after 4 years in business, Teachables will be closing its doors. The educational store, a rare find in the Gainesville area, sold not only teacher supplies, but all things learning - from pencils to puppets, and everything in between. The store also held many wonderful events for children, including crafts, a slime bar, and story time. Teachables will surely be missed by the families who frequented this unique little store.
Over the years, owner Jennifer Powell had many great moments she is thankful for running Teachables with her husband. She explains, "Some of my greatest moments were teaching the little kids science experiments and different crafts. I am most thankful for the opportunity to care about my community and bring something wholesome and helpful to so many."
Although Jennifer is sad to close Teachables, she is looking forward to a break. What is on the horizon? She tells us, "I will take some much needed rest and wait for the right opportunity. I was an elementary teacher before Teachables and I love Children's literature so we'll see."
Although the brick and mortar store is closing, it is not the end of Teachables. They will continue the online store Teachablesva.com and also host 2 summer pop-ups. One event will be at Celebree School in the same shopping center as the store and another at Believe Imagination in Vint Hill. Dates will be announced soon and will be posted to the Macaroni Kid Gainesville calendar of events.
Jennifer and her husband want everyone to know that their community was very dear to them and they are sad to go. Please stop in for their farewell sale from now until the closing date, which is March 22nd. They would love to see you one more time before closing their doors.
