This week's Small Business Spotlight is Seven Oaks Lavender Farm. The new owners, Katie and Jason Rinker, have been busy getting ready for this year's lavender season, which begins on May 30th. Be sure to visit this beautiful "slice of heaven" in Catlett this year!
What is the story behind your business? How did you get started?
We purchased the Lavender Farm in November and have been working hard to get it ready for our Open Season in June and July. We have hundreds of lavender plants, cut flowers, bunnies, and a cute lavender shop.
What does your business offer its customers?
We are a you-pick flower farm. With an admission fee, you get 20 stems of lavender and can stay for as long as you'd like. There's a huge sandbox, a playhouse, bunnies, lawn chairs, and the lavender shop. We also have lavender lemonade, lavender ice cream, and lavender lemon cupcakes for sale.
What are some fun facts about you or your business?
Seven Oaks lavender farm was started 20 years ago by a mother and daughter Duo and was recently sold to us in November 2024. It's a little slice of heaven!
What are you most proud of?
I am most proud of how hard we have worked the last few months to make updates and changes and bring new things to the farm. We have been working almost non-stop since we moved in!
