Description
Step back in time with the classic music from the WWII era on Saturday, June 22, at the Warrenton-Fauquier Airport. Come dress in your best 1940s attire and enjoy a performance with the 16-piece Silver Tones Swing Band and their Andrews Sisters vocal trio, the Silver Belles. The band and solo vocalists Gene Bates and Wendy Marie will recreate the music of Doris Day, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Anita O’Day, and other musical greats, including artists like Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Artie Shaw, and Tommy Dorsey. The backdrop for the concert and dance-floor will include the WWII combat aircraft the B17G Bomber “Sentimental Journey” and the B-25J Bomber “Maid in the Shade,” of the Flying Legends of Victory Tour by the Arizona Airbase of the Commemorative Air Force.
